About This Quote

If you live as if you know nothing you offer yourself the opportunity to learn everything. It’s so important to learn everything you can about everything, but it’s even more important to live as if you already know everything. Back when I was in school, I was taught that the best way to teach is by asking questions. Yet, many teachers are afraid of asking questions.

They don’t want to look stupid or make a mistake in front of their students. But there are some really good reasons why it is better for teachers to ask questions rather than taking things for granted. For one thing, it allows students to see the mistakes that the teacher has made and learn from them.

For another, it helps students form their own opinions on things, especially when they have experienced something themselves. Yet another benefit of asking questions is that it allows us to learn by helping others. Asking questions allows us to learn from others and helps us feel connected to other people in the process.

This is true regardless of how old we are or what field we are in.
